Kris Stylez

DJ Kris Styles is internationally known for rocking the hottest events. As a tour DJ for some of music heavy hitters he honed his skills and business acumen to reach a higher level of success. Getting his start as a DJ in high school at age 14, Kris saw his opportunity to use his love of DJing to keep kids in school in his community.  “Over here in Miami, they got a national skip day, which is I guess the day right before a holiday or a teacher planning day when kids skip school.  So I said, “How can I get 100%, like everybody be in school that day?” The event became a instant success, eventually turning DJ Kris Styles in a local celebrity and making sure he and his classmates graduated. Capitalizing on his new found party rocking momentum DJ Kris soon set out to take over the clubs of South Beach. “I wasn't even supposed to be in the club, I was supposed to be 21 and older to be in the club.” His knack for creating opportunity’s made him of the youngest DJs on the Miami club scene.

Through his hustle he made a connection with Bad Boy recording artist Mario and set his mind on becoming his DJ. “I looked at it like, if I can get to Mario then I can probably get to Puff or somebody out there who might give me a shot.  I started getting cool with the dude…One day he called me up and he's like, “Yo, quit your job, let's go on tour”.

As the DJ behind Mario, he got the chance to also DJ for other artists in the Bad boy roster including Loon and Carl Thomas but he was mostly doing sets for R&B artists and itching to do something with Hip Hop. “I turned his shows into a little bit of Hip-Hop, the way I usually come out was I entertain the crowd, hit them with nothing but classic record hits, and then after that it was just break him out, but you could tell everyone was having fun, and at the same time people hadn't seen him, because at the end of the day an R&B act is like grown and sexy.” Having his ear to the street he got word of a new movement out of the West Coast with rapper The Game, who was soon to join the roster of his management company.  Flying to New York, he trekked through the snow to make it happen. After meeting with Game’s manager Jimmy Henchmen, the two were introduced and talked business over drinks, Game told Kris, “I'ma hit you up, I'ma get your number and I'll call you once I'm ready to drop my album.” After a few months The Game did call after completing his first Europeon tour. “Homie called me as soon as they got off that flight like, “Yo, you're on board. We got a show in the next month, I'll give you the date, just meet me out there.” They sell me the ticket and everything, I meet up with him, and the first time we rocked the show, we actually rocked the show.  He was just like, “Daaam, you know what? I'm keeping you, I aint switchin no more Djs.”
